The Continuing Witch Hunt against Dr. Robert Haddad, Caritas Chief Dear Administrators & Journalists at the Boston Globe: I'm truly and honestly ashamed of the Boston Globe, and have written to them daily since the question of Dr. Robert Haddad was in the news - "Above the Fold," as they say. This is below the excellent quality of what the most powerful newspaper in New England should be writing about. The Globe now reminds me of a gossipy old lady who has nothing else to do but destroy the reputations of persons connected with Catholic sexual issues--issues that may or may not be true. By the way, in many other cultures, it is permissive and habitual, whether we like it or not, to kiss and hug, even on the lips. Witness the Italians who, in the street, will pat a woman's behind, even if they do not know her. This paper tells us of New England news and this is the fifth day that the issue of one Dr. Robert Haddad, Chief at the Caritas Hospital, is dominant, leaving out more important news of New England and the World. Also, yesterday's paper had a cartoon, the day before an offensive editorial, making it sound as if the Catholic religion (not any others) had a long history of sexual offenses by clergy. I've called and written the Ombudsman, but the story continues. Another witch hunt, similar to the issue with Cardinal Bernard Law who committed no sexual crimes. But the witch hunt worked. He's gone, though still picked on by your paper. But who will you attack next? I've sent out to some of you a list of Rabbis from the Internet showing a disgusting lack of morals within the Judaic religion, and now I'm sending you another list of religions that have similar problems. It is time for your administration, along with the journalists to put the subject in its proper place: Reveal what's going on within other religions, and stop, please stop, persecuting O'Malley, Law, and the Catholic religion. Sincerely, Carol Rae Bradford
