Israel destroys, the world pays, especially the American taxpayer. In his long press conference Bush spoke one sentence saying he's working with Congress to increase "loan guarantees" to Israel.

ISRAEL HAS NEVER PAID A SINGLE PENNY BACK TO THE U.S. FROM SUCH "LOANS", IN FACT DUE TO THE "SCRANTON AMENDMENT", CONGRESS GIVES ISRAEL GRANTS TO PAY THE LOANS, only Israel can get this special NeoCongress aid.

Dear Mr. Michael Gartland, Post and Courier, Charleston, SC.

Thanks for a very balanced coverage of Bernard Lewis's misguided attempt to spread a scare of Muslim violence. Its sad that a person of his scholarship and long years, should have so prejudiced views on Islam and Muslims. The world will soon realise that the bogey of Islam and Muslims, was deliberately projected to achieve neforious political aims around the world.

The chaos that such misinformation and demonisation of Muslims has created is devouring its own creators. Unless cool minds with wider perspectives and a longing for peace among the people and nations, take up the cause of counteracting and dispelling such exaggerated notion of Muslim threats, the clouds of uncertainty and distrust cannot be dispersed. Your attempt to present a balanced view on the subject, is therefore, most welcome. As it is, August 22 has passed and there is no reported big bang incident as dreaded by Bernard Lewis.
