Does Bush have the Right to Amend the Road Map? A Legal Opinion regarding the Legitimacy of one member modifying the Road Map is Required NOW. Bush had no Legal right to tell butcher, Sharon & his Squatters the could stay in parts of the West Bank as put forward in his "My Vision" letter to Sharon April 14, 2004. Without an Amendment & vote by all members of the Quartet who wrote the Road Map. History of Road Map--How is it Amended, Can one member make an Amendment without a vote of approval by the other Members? 'Russia co-drafted the UN-adopted “roadmap” peace plan with the EU, UN and the US." Thank You Ronald Douglas Kennedy, California.
Outrageous whitewashing of Iraqi death figures To: Peter Jennings ABC News It is shameful that US media is now bent on whitewashing the black deeds of Bush neocons, by putting out rediculous figures of Iraqi dead in the illegal invasion of Iraq, a UN member nation. US media is supposed to be free and fair and is not and could not be bought by the US administration over the cost of its own credibility with the rest of world audiences, who are now willy nilly having to refer to their inputs to frame their view of the ongoing war in Iraq. But the prepostrously low figure put out by you and other US media, is seriously jeopardising your own reputation around the world. Is not the old warning relevant, that you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. The world is still holding out to the objective, neutral, non-political figure estimate put by Lancet last year, when it had informed the world that the death tally for Iraqis has crossed the figure of over 100,000 civilian deaths. American forces have been carpet bombing with 1000 kg bombs on densely populated civilians areas. The figure of around 15,000 put out by you and others is one days taking for the US forces with its formidable fire power. Nobody around the world will be fooled by your blatant attempt to minimise the brutality of the wanton attack by US/UK forces on innocent civilians. As long as under international laws, US/UK invasion of Iraq is illegal, the civilian deaths will have to be compensated at par with compensation of US army casualities. Ghulam Muhammed, Mumbai, India
