Europe/Bush on Iran 2/17/05 - Mike Whitney Mike Whitney continue to peg George Bush. Right on! I hope that his accurate analyses can be spread ..through in many many forms of communications. Sam Di Muzio
Not everyone in the U.S.A likes the direction it's heading Why is America so interested in running the world? Why can't we concentrate on our own problems? What would happen if we simply decided to bring our troops home and let things sort themselves out for themselves? Do we occupy regions and countries because of their natural resources. It seems to me that if we could come up with an alternative to oil we would have little need to be as deeply involved in the Middle East as we are now. I would appreciate some answers. Thanks, Bob Darden Editor: There are no short answers for your deep questions. Read the opinion articles of February 28, 2005 for more detailed answers. However, I'll attempt to give you some ideas, which may serve only as a start for your in your quest for the truth. The US, as a nation state, is the main colony of Zionist Empire. The Empire rulers are using the US military capabilities to maintain their world domination and hegemony over the world resources. The problems of the US, as a nation state, may start to be solved by ending militarism at home and abroad, i.e. by decreasing military spending at home, closing all military bases worldwide, and ending the US occupation and military presence in other countries.
Periods of Peace are Defined by Whom? Dear Editor, Prior to last weeks suicide bombing claimed by Islamic Jihad, U.S media sources (including NPR), Were commenting on the period of peace between Israelis and Palestinians. And yet, as the articles clearly demonstrate, for Palestinians it was anything but peaceful! Why is it that here in the U.S, when Israelis die, it makes front page news. When Palestinians die, American audiences never hear? Also, in today's report (Feb 28) on Sharon's response to the bombing, he commented that Syria was behind the bombing. Why wasn't he requested to present his proof? The fact is that, the U.S and Israel have been in the process of destabilizing the Middle East (more specifically Iran, Iraq, Syria or any Muslim country for that matter!) for quite some time, however, with this administration, both countries have taken the fervor to new levels. The many threats toward Syria by the U.S, to include the Syria accountability act passed last year, underscore this. In addition, why wasn't Israel's past involvement in Syria and Lebanon discussed? Again, this history of conflict has many sides. Why can U.S news coverage of the region not reflect the many views of of this complex conflict? Why is it that we in the U.S are still unable and unwilling to understand that peace in the region, should not be defined by Israel alone? Timothy Stinson Miami, Florida This letter was sent to NPR/
New Cold War and US-Russian Bratislava Summit By K Gajendra Singh (Al-Jazeerah, February 28, 2005).
