US-Israeli media mogul tries to buy up Aljazeera TV of Qatar
Haim Saban is trying to buy 50% of Aljazeera TV According to the Israeli ynet the US-Israeli media mogul, Haim Saban, has been trying to take over 50% of Aljazeera TV. He started negotiating with the emir of Qatar half a year ago. The negotiations were stopped after 4 months, as the emir decided to assess first the value of the TV station. A spokeperson of the Saban group told ynet that Saban will consider renewing the negotiations after the assessment will be finished. http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-2980807,00.htmlSent by Eric Walberg
The campaign to free Mr. Bigley Many thanks. I am overjoyed tonight to see that Mr. Yasser Arafat has joined in the campaign to free Mr. Bigley. If we are all unsuccessful in the long run, at least we have established that Christian, Muslim, British or Iraqi we are all as one. It is not a secret that a massive majority of people in the UK think that the whole Iraq war was in no way justifyable. Our prime minister Mr. Blair lied to get the support he wanted to follow George Bush, you can only hope that he regards his prize of Iraqi oil worth the lives that he has squandered. This unease with the whole war is probably unknown in much of the US, though I suspect that as time unfolds more people will come to see this. Lets hope that the outcome will be a happy and peaceful one! Thanks, Alan Kelly
Methodists are pulling (1) billion in investments from Israel
My wife told me that the people who run the Methodist religion have this weekend announced that they are pulling (1) billion in investments from Israel because of their actions towards the Palestinians. This is big news, and should be investigated and reported. Wade Graninger
Greetings from Palestine
Zajel Launches its Media Site
We are very pleased to invite you to visit our new
website www.zajel.org
Zajel Youth Exchange Program launched its Information Unit based at the Public Relations Department of An-Najah National University, Nablus-Palestine. The Palestine Information Unit seeks to promote Palestinian culture, heritage, history and news. It seeks to give a voice to those usually overlooked by a media obsessed with conflict. This is the Palestine behind the news stories. The mission is to open the door to Palestine to all those who are interested in her past, present and future. Zajel seeks to be a resource for those with a first-hand perspective on Palestine. By launching this site, Zajel tries to clear the image of the Palestinian people and pass the message about the current situation in the occupied territories to the international community, besides removing the stereotypes about Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom and independence. We do encourage you to publish your articles in our site; you can also volunteer to edit or to promote it, we do highly appreciate the efforts of the associations that enabled us to launch this promising project. Do not hesitate to send your comments in order to empower our site; your recommendations are more than welcome.
