Human Price of the Israeli Occupation of Palestine Israeli daily aggression on the Palestinian people Mission and meaning of Al-Jazeerah Cities, localities, and tourist attractions

Freedom Summer in Palestine June 25- August 19 is Freedom Summer in Palestine where people from around the world are invited to participate in a 56 day campaign (one day for every year of displacement and dispossession) against occupation. Palestinians are mobilizing with the participation of their international supporters to draw the attention of the world to the true nature of the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and to demonstrate that the Palestinian struggle is for justice, dignity, human rights and freedom. Like the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, India's National Liberation Movement and the Anti-Apartheid Movement in South Africa, Freedom Summer will utilize nonviolent direct action strategies and tactics to overcome oppression. Plans call for ongoing peaceful resistance to construction of the Apartheid Wall where old and young will convergence at different points of the Wall in actions designed to highlight the reality of their imprisonment. Simultaneous demonstrations against checkpoints and removal of roadblocks in all regions are also planned. Convoys of busses from West Bank cities will converge on Jerusalem for Friday prayer. Churches will organize Christian prayers on this day also. The highlight of Freedom Summer will be a three week march by Palestinians, internationals and Israelis along the path of the Apartheid Wall, beginning in the Jenin area and through cities, towns and villages affected by the wall, all the way to Jerusalem. Seedlings will be planted to replace the olive trees destroyed by the Israeli military. For further information, please contact www.palsolidarity.org Genevieve Cora Fraser
Sharon should not be rewarded for his crimes in Gaza Some Arab leaders have already legitimized the Sharon plan for Gaza, while he did not do anything yet other than murdering Palestinian civilians and destroying their property. The question is why these leaders keep interfering to protect and support Sharon and his Apartheid plans? If Sharon really wants to withdraw from Gaza (as he originally called his movement 'unilateral disengagement plan for Gaza'), or from any other Occupied Palestinian land, he should do that without any rewards or conditions. It should be in the same manner as Ehud Barak (former Israeli Prime Minister) did when he withdrew his Occupation forces, a few years ago, from South Lebanon, which was a direct result of the heroic resistance of the Lebanese people, particularly 'Hizb-u-Allah'. The Lebanese government or any other party in Lebanon did not give Barak any rewards for the Israeli brutal military occupation of South Lebanon which lasted 20 years or so. Again, Arab leaders participate in implementing the Zionist plans at no price. Remember, the Sharon plan for Gaza, which came as a direct result of the heroic resistance of the Gazans against the Zionist Israeli occupation, does not give the Gazans any rights on borders, water, sea, sky, etc. This means that even if Sharon (again 'IF', because this man has never respected his word or any agreements) would move his illegal settlers from Gaza, Gaza will continue to be a prison for about 1.5 million people. In addition, Sharon and his racist state and its main supporters (America and the EU) must compensate the people of Gaza for almost FOUR DECADES of ugly, horrible, colonial, military occupation that led to the killing and disabling of tens of thousands of Gazans and to total destruction of the Gaza Strip.
