Taking Matters To a Logical Conclusion

Dear Editor,

I read with initial disdain Hassan Barari's article which appeared in Jordan Times on January 20 and on your excellent web site on the same date. My first reaction was to think, well, here we have yet another Arab anxious to dance to the tunes orchestrated by the  Washington -- Tel Aviv axis . So, I shall give  his thoughts no further attention. Then my conscience kicked in and told me that I should carefully review Mr. Barari's logic. I did so, and by gosh, he makes sense. Yes, $ 700 million dollars of aid has flowed to Jordan since

True enough, of course, that Jordan has barely sufficient water for its growing population, but why let that fact interfere with the type of (action) that would bring American dollars. After all, perhaps the Americans will then give the Israelis the go-ahead to seize the waters of the Litani river in Lebanon  in return for a modest increase in Jordanian allotment of the Jordan River waters-- none of which are presently allocated for the Palestinians. What a deal! Bush and Sharon will smile ear to ear.

No need to stop at this step. Consider that at least 100,000 U. S. troops, mostly young males, are likely to be stationed in Iraq for quite some time. Coming from a society where mindless copulation is so common, they would pay well, and in those U.S. dollars that Mr. Barari values so highly, for a bit of feminine companionship. Mr. Barari seems to have the ideal mindset for establishing the world's largest brothel. Wow, would that generate some U.S. dollars, with GIs rushing along the Amman - Baghdad Highway each time they receive a three day pass. Barari would be designated " a great Arab entrepreneur" by no less than Condolezza Rice. By gosh, that is a win situation for everyone but the Palestinians. But isn't that the way it has been  for 56 years!

Clarification on the Jericho Statement (Jan 18, 2004)

Hi there, Sean O'Driscoll here, I write for the Irish Times newspaper from the U.S. I see Al Jazeerah carry a "Statement by the General Secretary of the PFLP and his comrades in Jericho Prison" - Just wanted to clarify something - Directly after the statement it says "BACKGROUND INFORMATION: (Addameer.org)" with an explanation of the circumstanes surrounding the men's imprisonment - Does this form part of the Jericho Prison statement - or who is doing the explanation? Al Jazeerah, a third party group, addaeer.org or the prisoners? The background information if very interesting from an Irish perspective. Can you clarify this?

Regards,

Sean Odriscoll

Editor: It's www.addameer.org, as clearly stated in the text.

Broken promises about Jonathan Pollard By Barry Chamish

(Opinion, June 30, 2003, Al-Jazeerah.info).

Alas,

Dear Editor

For your eyes only, meaning I have not adjust your Forward to send to another. It is my contention that your forward note should have read:

Editor's note:

Al-Jazeerah.info does not share the author his sympathy for Jonathan Pollard, as a convicted spy who spied on his own country, the United States, for Israel. However, the article sheds more light on the deal between Israel and the USA in 1986 for Israel not to be cut off all US military and monitory aide due to Jonathan Pollard spying on the USA for Mossad: The deal is still under tight raps due to Mossad infiltrating the mighty German conglomerate Seimanns AG Munich to acquire the Libya defence codes as revealed in Aaron Goldman's 1995 UK published book-exposé 'Forbidden Yesterday'.

I do congratulated you on your awareness, as both the Israeli Government and Press and indeed the Jewish Press burry their heads in the sand regarding the deal for Jonathan Pollard spying on the USA. Even Barry Chamish reported wrongly and refused to reedit his account even though I FedEx him copy of 'Forbidden Yesterday'.

Alas, another Broken Promise as the title of Chapter Thirty-Six. Chapter Twenty is titled: At Behest of Mossad. I kindly make you aware that Gordon MacKenzie of the 'Daily Mail quoted:

"Impressive - comes alive in a very real way - Individual incidents very well told - Information about Mossad particularly interesting - Very readable, very good, very good indeed...Excellent."

Not bad for a 65 year old man at the time, who was obliged to write 'Forbidden Yesterday' to put the History Book to right and for the truth not to be swept under the carpet. Thanks to Barry Chamish, the web, though somewhat befuddled reveals the truth. I am surprised though, that only yourself was shrewd enough to realize that other hid behind the Headlines.

With best regards

Aaron Goldman.

US wanting UN to bail it out

Incredible, the US now pleading with the UN to bail it out of the Iraqi quagmire of its own making. Leading up to the illegal US-led war, the UN was completely sidelined and ridiculed because Bush had to have his war, come what may.

What is so incredible - and the US administration still thinks that we are all stupid - is that turning to the UN in its desperation, it is to get Bush re-elected. It has nothing to do with justice for the Iraqis, nor has it anything to do with the much tauted "democracy" the US thought it could impose. Now that the Iraqi people are indeed wanting a democratic process for the turn-over from the brutal US occupation, the US is afraid of democracy! Irony of ironies.

It is to be hoped that Koffi Annan, who has stood his ground since he is no fool, will not be sucked in to rescue the US. It is Iraq which has to be rescued, and if the UN could facilitate this rescue then more power to it. No one in his right mind can believe anything the US administration says now, it no longer has any credibility. The lying and manipulation to get the war going was done with incredible impunity, there were no WMDs, nor was there a Saddam terrorist connection . The irony is that Saddam was telling the truth! The Americans and all their supporters must leave Iraq the soonest. This will begin the process of normalization, allowing Iraqis to run their own country without foreign aggression.
