The US Military has arrested Muslim
chaplain, Yousef Yee, for taking classified documents from
Guantanamo Bay facility. The papers are said to contain drawings of the
prison and lists of both the detainees and their interrogators. If he is
found guilty, it is likely he will spend the next twenty years of his
life in jail.
What Mr. Yee did was entirely justifiable and,
perhaps, the only moral choice he had.
In creating the legal limbo of Guatanamo, the Bush
Administration claims that it is beyond the reach of any set of laws,
domestic or international. That implies that only Mr. Bush has authority
over the lives of the 600 plus detainees who have been kept in windowless,
5' by 8' cells for nearly two years without being formally charged with a
crime. Well, someone should tell Mr. Bush that their is a word for leaders
assume all the powers of the law to themselves....tyrants.
We should keep in mind, that when President Bush
took office he did not swear to improve the economy, or take us to war, or
fight AIDS, or even create more jobs. No. The Founders were wise enough to
know that the foremost duty of the President is to protect and defend the
Constitution. Now, we are finding out how miserable things can get when a
President has no regard for the "inalienable" rights of man, or for any
standard of justice beyond his own will.
Justice delayed, is justice denied. This is clearly
the case in Guantanamo.
It is George Bush and his lieutenants who have
created this legal black hole, and it should be expected that people of
conscience will oppose it.
Where no laws exist, people like Mr.Yee are free to
make their own moral judgments and act accordingly.
How could it be otherwise?

Did you see
this article from Nuc News? Yikes! Do they NEVER get tired of stirring
up hornets nests and killing civilians in the Middle East? This is
terrible.
Report: Israel Calling Up 50,000
Troops for Assault on Gaza
Jane's reports: Foreign Report can reveal that the Israeli government is planning an onslaught on the Gaza Strip. This is because, our informant said, its former policy of containing Palestinian violence, including the murder of the Hamas leadership, has failed. The idea is to launch an intervention in October, once a series of Jewish holidays have finished.... Israel is planning a huge call-up of at least 50,000 soldiers to cope with the conquering of the Gaza strip. Special Israeli troops will move from house to house to find and kill militants. The Israelis are well aware of the difficulties of such an operation. Gaza is the most densely populated place on earth. The Israelis assume they will face serious resistance and many casualties. But it seems that the prime minister, Ariel Sharon, is determined to crush Hamas in Gaza." Jane Stillwater, CA, USA
In the wake of a protracted war and domination of Iraq. the president of US is seeking UN to advance his ideas of propagating the New world order, Republican Party theme. But the diabolical concepts were conceived prior to his electoral power by the Governance that is entrenched against a free Arab world that does not see eye to eye with the New world order and western domination merely for the fact it shadows the underlying principles of establishing "friendly governments" in the entire Arabian Peninsula for building pipe lines, shipping and outright deception fully endorsed by the oil tycoons and the department of energy. It has its grand visions no sooner had the world war had ended. Please obtain a copy of the similar fate to be suffered by the Korean Peninsula. Please note the terms Peninsula, crisis, rudimentary Islamic forms of government that could be overpowered or isolated and dealt with at any cost, with fancy phrases of weapons of mass destruction, end of conflict. A Republican platform is a convenient cause. However also note the fate of Koreans that suffered then and soon to suffer from the same words of Korean Peninsula, crisis, limited warfare by isolating an adversary. But at this stage this might be a viable option. Mad Hagiri
