To the editor:
I read that Aljazeerah.info has been coming under increasing attacks by
American Officials, claiming you are guilty of "inciting
people."
Of course nothing would satisfy the U.S. and Israel more than finding a legitimate way to shut down Aljazeerah.info and deny you your right to freedom of speech. If this is true I wish you would publish the names of those engaged in this effort along with addresses where they can be reached. I am sure that many supporters like myself would gladly come to your defense. Also I sent in a small donation to Aljazeerah.info today and encourage other supporters to send in a contribution in any amount they can afford. Keep up the good work.

Editor: Thank you John for your kind words and for your support. Al-Jazeerah.info has not been publicly attacked by any officials. However, Arab TV stations, particularly Al-Arabiya of Dubai and Aljazeera of Qatar, were accused of incitement lately. As mentioned above, Al-Jazeerah Information Center and its aljazeerah.info website are not related to any government or entity with similar names, including these tv stations.
Dear Al Jazeerah: I wanted to bring to your attention at www.aljazeerah.info I believe you will find these websites most interesting. They are: www.nkusa.org,
www.jewsagainstzionism.com,
Dr. Zogby's writings are indicative of a subservience attitude that
unfortunately does not play well in this day and age.
If Mr. Pipes' appointment were to become a fact it would represent what
the present administration feels is proper. As the man says "
actions speak louder than words". I personally would not consider
the non appointment of Mr. Pipes any kind of victory.
What would seem to be the most important principle in this episode is
the fact that some people felt that Mr. Pipes was worthy of
consideration in the first place,
At the same time Mr. Pipes as an American citizen is free to express his
personal views [as I am too doing by writing you this letter] at any
time and at any place
Sincerely,

Prem Shankar Jha has come out with understatement of the last 50 years, when he writes “if the Supreme Court says yes to Best Bakery retrial, it will light a lamp for plain justice.” (Outlook, August 11, 2003) SC action will turn a new page in the history of Indian justice. After independence, there have been thousands of communal riots --- some spontaneous, but mostly all meticulously organized riots targeting the minority Muslim community. Modi’s Gujarat was the first internationally recognized state-sponsored genocidal mob violence that took horrendous toll of Muslim lives and property. With the fearless media reporting each and every incident in minutest gory detail, the tide appears to have turned in favour of the victims. However, the perpetrators of the crime in influential places at all levels of society are hell-bent to frustrate the attempts to bring culprits to book. Release of 21 a! ccused by trial court on the basis of insufficient evidence shocked the nation and the world. National Human Rights Commission’s move under the Chairmanship of Justice S. A. Anand to appeal to Supreme Court for a retrial amounts to a big blow to try communal rioters at State level and bring it out of the manipulative clutches of local politics, who seem to have a packaged deal with the rioters when the riots are organized. All such criminals are let off to be used again and again in serial rioting incidents. If there are technical difficulties involved in Supreme Court taking up such cases of gross violation of human rights, those can be set aside by establishment of a Special Court to try cases of communal rioting and genocide. Any incident where the death toll passes a certain limit and public perception is convinced that the communal rioting was part of a political strategy, Supreme Court could su moto refer the case to CBI to be tried in Special Courts for speedy and speci! alized justice paradigms to guard against mistrials through technical manipulations at state level. When the State can insist on special rights under POTA to prosecute people, circumventing the normal standards of justice, why the victimized people could not demand similar specialized treatment to ensure justice through the judicial processes under the guidance of Supreme Court. Any such move will bring in historical change in judicial prosecution of the hundreds of cases of political mass murders committed in the name of ‘communal riots’. GHULAM MUHAMMED, India
