I wonder if anyone can tell us or show us EXACTLY what Bechtel is
building or rebuilding in Iraq?
Where are the billions of our U.S. dollars going?
Apparently Bechtel can't even get the electricity or water going! What a
ripoff !

Global warming shuts down nuclear plants -- yet they keep building more of them?

It's August. I'm back from vacation. Checking the e-mail. "What's this? The extreme heat wave caused by global warming is shutting down nuclear power plants all over Europe?"

What kind of nincompoops are running this planet? That their main answer to global warming is to produce nuclear power plants -- which are disabled by global warming? Do the people who run the world think at all?

Read my lips, world leaders: "Space Ship Earth cannot afford to be driven by lunatics who have absolutely failed driver training and have NO IDEA how close they are to crashing us all into a brick wall."

It is time for the more rational among us to dump the irrational leaders of the world -- as well as the various members of the Billionaires' Club whose only goals seem to be to create Swiss bank accounts and to buy bigger and better war toys at the expense of everyone else.

It's time for the human race to dump its lunatic leadership, learn to drive with care and to keep their eyes on the road ahead.

I very much appreciate your site. I find the articles and editorials very interesting. Even when I disagree with the author, I still find them very informative as to the thoughts, feelings, and perspectives of people of the region.

One suggestion that I'd like to make is to include the email addresses of the authors. I've had a very good experience with some of the other sites, of emailing the authors and starting a dialog. I have learned much about the region, the people, and the wide variety of political thought. It has given me a much deeper understanding than I could ever get from the media, especially in the west.

Editor: I agree with you concerning the importance of a dialogue between authors and readers. However, it's up to authors to provide their emails. Many of them complain that they receive hate mail and even threats. I do receive that on their behalf any way, almost daily.

Nasser Hussain, the former England cricket captain was born in Calcutta in India, and judging by his name I would presume he was born into an Islamic family. However if you read any interviews that he has participated in you will find that he is not religious and describes himself as an Atheist.

A better example of a UK based sportsman that is a practicing Muslim would be the boxer Naseem Muhammad.

All I see is the most horrible crimes and injustice being committed in the name of religion . Whatever the religion I have found that the greater the religiosity the greater the preparedness to treat others in the most inhumane fashion .Secularism is the Middle Easts only hope.

Editor: I'm turning the question to readers.

Why is a person not a criminal one minute and be given the chance of escape and considered a criminal to be reckoned with the next?

One thing that has always bothered me is that before the war Bush gave saddam and sons the option to leave Iraq and escape retribution. Some two months or so later the sons were killed along with a fourteen year old boy by a greatly outnumbered force of U.S. troops.

Should Saddam Hussin be located I am sure his fate will be the same. One of Americas most infamous criminals was John Dillinger. I can just imagine the head of the F.B.I J. Hoover telling Dillinger that he had until such and such a time to leave America with immunity but that if he were found after this date he would be killed.

The analogy may escape some but I think it shows that there was something wrong with the situation well before the war. If a criminal should stand against any particular charges then he must stand for them. Why is a person not a criminal one minute and be given the chance of escape and considered a criminal to be reckoned with the next?

I have not heard any recourse on this so I thought I would throw it out. to Aljezzerah.info: I have come to view your web as a place where the truth might be found. It can not be found on government controlled American media. Keep it up
